Jurong Fishery Port

Jurong Fishery Port is the larger of the 2 fish wholesale markets in Singapore.  Here, trawlers berth alongside and offload their haul from the sea to wholesellers which will then auctioned to fishmongers.  The place is bustling with activities just after midnight and all the way till 5am.

  1. hi, I would like to bring my 8year old boy there. Do we need a permit to enter facility and can we walk anywhere in the compound? The challenge would be staying up late/early to catch the fishy-buzz. Thanks in advance for your reply.

    • Hi, no need permit. Anyone can go in, just exchange ID for entry pass at guard post. Can drive in and park there too. You can walk anywhere you fancy and there is a gangway above the entire area if you want to avoid the wet trading floor. Between 2-4am should be most busy period. Have fun. 🙂

  2. Thanks as usual for your prompt response. I agree this should bring some unconventional Fun 🙂

  3. Can you tell me got Eel & shark for sell for this market? Thank you very much!

    • This is a wholesales market, but you can check with the whole sellers if they willing to sell you small quantity. As to what’s available, it depends on their catches. You can walk around the place and see what you like.

  4. Hi I note your reply in 2011 that there is no permit required to enter. Is it still so as I would like to bring my children.
